Casa 0101 is gearing up for the World Premiere of THE CLEANING LADY Written by author, screen-writer and full time Chicana Josefina Lopez and Christopher Chacon. The play is being directed by Hector Rodriguez. It is being billed as a super-natural comedy about a young Latina who works as a cleaning lady during the day and a spiritual cleaning lady at night. 

 

Even though she is best known for the success of Real Women Have Curves, Josefina has had more than eighty productions of her plays throughout the United States.  In addition, Josefina is also a poet, performer, designer, lecturer of Women’s Studies, and Chicano theater and film.  She is the founder of  “Casa 0101 Theater Art Space” in Boyle Heights, where she teaches screenwriting and playwriting and nurtures a new generation of Latino artists. Help Latino artists thrive by participating as an audience member at one of their shows.
