Papel Picado Workshop 11-3

The Santa Ana Public Library is presenting the Papal Picado (Perforated Paper) Workshop for FREE from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012. The event is being presented by the City of Santa Ana Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency and Casa Guanajuato.

Papel picado is a traditional Mexican folk art decorative craft that makes paper into elaborate designs. It can be used for many celebrations including holidays, birthdays and can be used to decorate altars during the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) which is also being celebrated this weekend.

With more than 15 years of experience, Jesus Pastor C. will be showing two techniques to anyone ready to construct these intricate and colorful decorations.

The Santa Ana Public Library’s purpose is to respond to our community’s informational, educational, and personal interest needs using books, materials, technology, and professional expertise.
