The continually popular event for Santa Ana’s Artist Village the annual “Noche de Alatres” took place on Saturday, November 3rd with thousands in attendance.

OCGente community partner Relampago del Cielo took to the stage to share traditional Mexican performing arts around 4 p.m. alongside musicians, poets and community leaders that continued well into the night.

Noche de Altares is a community-based event celebrating Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), one of México’s oldest, indigenous festivals. Organized by volunteers, the purpose of the celebration is to honor the ancient traditions of the festival and bring community members together through art, culture, and compassion.

The event featured not only entertainment but food and vendors of cultural art, clothing and other merchandise.

The evening can be shared here online through the OCGente Facebook page.
